The 29 Dedicated Volunteers from the 2026 DR Mission Trip
Introducing HART’s HERO for the month of JULY 2026....
29 HEARTS ANSWERING GOD'S CALL
This July, we honor 29 extraordinary volunteers who answered God's call to serve on HART's mission trip to the Dominican Republic.
Leaving behind the comforts of home, they traveled with open hearts and willing hands to bring Christ's love to those most in need.
Each volunteer willingly sets aside an entire week with family and loved ones, uses precious vacation time from work, and personally covers the cost of airfare and accommodations. They don't come for recognition, comfort, or a vacation—they come to answer God's call to serve.
Life on mission is simple. Volunteers share dormitory-style rooms and communal bathrooms, far from the comforts of home. They walk miles each day, climb endless stairs, and serve in the mountain air where the high altitude can make even breathing more difficult. There is no air conditioning, no hot showers, and meals are modest and repetitive. Yet no one complains, because they know they are exactly where God has called them to be.
Each morning begins as they board a bus for a 90-minute journey to the clinic, repeating the trip again at day's end. After more than three hours of daily travel, they spend long, demanding days caring for patients who often have nowhere else to turn for medical care. Despite the physical exhaustion, they offer every patient compassion, dignity, and hope.
These volunteers don't measure the week by what they give up, but by the lives they touch. Their sacrifice is a powerful witness to Christ's love in action, reminding us that true service asks for little in return and gives so much to others.
Their mission was not simply about treating illness—it was about restoring hope, building relationships, and living the Gospel through compassionate service. Each volunteer became the hands and feet of Christ, demonstrating that even the smallest act of kindness can transform a life.
We are deeply grateful for their generosity, faith, and commitment. Because of these 29 heroes, countless lives were touched, prayers were answered, and the love of Christ was shared in a powerful way.
Thank you for being July's Heroes. May God bless each of you abundantly for your selfless service.
