Fr. Louis Merosne...
Fr. Louis, a native of Haiti who grew up in Boston, MA, has dedicated his life to serving Christ through the poor. His journey with HART began when Dr. Tom Graves attended a retreat at Franciscan University in Steubenville, OH where he was deeply moved by Fr. Louis’s wisdom, passion, and profound love for the Gospel. Upon returning, Dr. Graves felt compelled to connect HART with this remarkable priest and from that encounter, HART’s HOPE, an orphan prevention program, was born.
In 2010, Fr. Louis felt a powerful call to return to his homeland. He responded with faith and courage, devoting himself to the lives of the poor and underserved. In 2011, he was ordained a priest in the Diocese of Anse-à-Veau and Miragoâne, where he continues to serve as Pastor of the Cathedral of Saint Anne.
Fr. Louis embodies the spirit of Christ’s love in all that he does. His ministry is marked by deep compassion, tireless service, and an unwavering commitment to those in need. Through his leadership, HART’s HOPE has become a powerful expression of God’s mercy providing food, medical care, education, spiritual guidance, and renewed hope to countless families in Haiti.
Beyond his work with HART, Fr. Louis has founded and supported multiple nonprofit organizations, serves on several mission-oriented boards, and advises his bishop as Episcopal Vicar. He is also a gifted international speaker who inspires others to encounter Jesus and to make Him known.
Fr. Louis’s life is a testament to the Gospel of love in action. His devotion to Mary, the Church, and the poor shines brightly in every aspect of his ministry.
Thank you, Fr. Louis, for your tireless service to the poor and vulnerable, and for your faithful partnership with HART. We are blessed beyond measure to walk alongside you in the work of Christ. And, Happy Belated Priestly Ordination Anniversary (October 31)!
